The Treasurers’ House, York, is a predominantly a Jacobean building, once the site of the grand house occupied by the Treasurer to York Minster, and vastly refurbished in Edwardian style by industrial heir Frank Green. The interior is sumptuous, fascinating and allegedly haunted by (among others) Roman soldiers marching over the road over which the house was built. It’s a wonderful story. There is a small, charming, garden. The house is on the north side of the Minster.
