York Cold War Bunker is a former nuclear underground monitoring station for the Yorkshire area, which opened as a tourist attraction in 2006. In active service from the 1960s–1990s the bunker was designed as a nerve-centre to monitor fallout in the event of a nuclear attack. Visit by booked guided tour only.
