Malham is a picturesque village and Dale in the Yorkshire Dales, bang in the middle of limestone country. Malham Cove is one feature, an impressive limestone formation just north of the village. It is a cliff face that once hid behind a massive waterfall. It’s an easy walk there from the village, but a slightly tougher haul up to see a textbook limestone pavement with its clints and grykes. The area is popular with walkers, climbers, geographers, birdwatchers and anyone that likes the outdoors. Other walks and limestone features (particularly Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss) are near the village, where there are also pubs and cafes. The post code is for the National Park Centre.
