Loyn Bridge is an elegant listed sandstone bridge that takes the minor road between Hornby and Gressingham across the River Lune. There has evidently been a river crossing here for many centuries – it explains the location of nearby Castle Stede and the type 24 World War II pillbox on the east bank. The current bridge is believed to have replaced an earlier stone and timber bridge, but is of unknown date – the best guesses are anywhere between the late 16th and 18th centuries. It certainly looks old(!) and is single-track with triangular pedestrian passing places. Astonishingly, it is apparently judged suitable for large HGVs.

It has no post code. The post code given is for Hornby.
