Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a popular circular walk starting and ending in the village of Ingleton. The trail goes through woodland and across open hills following part of the rivers Twiss and Doe, taking in several attractive waterfalls and offering wonderful views. Some believe the falls are amongst the best to be seen in England – and they can be spectacular after heavy rain. The path is well-maintained, but not suitable for prams or wheelchairs and good footwear is recommended. The distance is about 4.5 miles and refreshments are available en route – but from experience cannot be relied upon. It’s a pleasant and relatively effortless way of spending a couple of hours – or half a day, depending on your fitness. The downside is that this is a walk you have to pay for. Parts of the walk are publicly accessible – use an OS map.
