Dent Museum and Heritage Centre offers an eclectic collection of memorabilia, mostly from the Dales area, much of it arranged in highly detailed reconstructions, reflecting living and working in Dent in the past. There’s a wealth of information, including details about the terrible knitters of Dent, the Dent Vampire – and all manner of goodies. There’s also a working model of the Settle-Carlisle railway near Dentdale, exhibits of wildlife (stuffed), locally-made crafts for sale and a cafe. The centre was designed and built entirely using community labour.
