Liverpool’s Albert Dock – it has been Royal Albert Dock since 2018 – is a fully restored Victorian dock and warehouse area, originally built of iron, stone and brick and opening in 1846. Now, it is a major destination for tourists and residents alike and claims to be the largest group of Grade I listed buildings in the country. The complex includes car parking, hotels, shops, bars, restaurants and several museums, including: Slavery Museum; Maritime Museum; Beatles Story; and Tate Liverpool. Albert Dock is handy for the city centre and the Cavern Quarter and about a 20-30 minute walk from Lime Street station.
