One of Britain’s largest colonies of common and grey seals is at Blakeney Pont, a 4-mile long spit that sticks out into the North Sea in North Norfolk. It is a national nature reserve, and a favourite spot for birds, native and foreign, as well as seals. Various companies run trips in small, open, boats to see the seals. It is a wonderful experience and the trips, which last about an hour, also give a different perspective on this fascinating landscape. There is also other wildlife to see, especially birds, and interesting buildings on Blakeney Point. The link below will take you to one operator – but there are others. Most depart from Morston Quay. Don’t forget your camera.
