Tosside is a tiny, old, village on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, technically in North Yorkshire but also half in Lancashire. It is a bit off the beaten track but there is good walking, cycling and horse riding nearby in the adjoining Gisburn Forest – the largest forest in Lancashire (apparently). Tosside’s St Bartholomew's church dates from 1694 and features a 17th Century octagonal font made of stone from the Forest of Bowland and a Jacobean pulpit dated 1701. Next door is the old Dog and Partridge – sadly, closed and up for sale at the time of writing (April 2022).

Don't be fooled by the postal address - it's some way from Skipton.
