SWINSIDE Stone Circle

Perfect Neolithic stone circle, diameter about 90 feet, comprising 55 stones. Also known as 'Sunkenkirk', from a legend that folk tried to build a church there.  The circle is on private land but can normally be accessed.

The circle can only be reached on foot. From the A595, park before the turning to the hamlet of Broadgate, walk through the hamlet and keep going until you see the sign. Postcode is for a nearby B&B.
