John Lennon's former Liverpool home, where he spent his childhood with his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George, voraciously read the 'Just William' books, listened to Elvis and played his guitar in the porch. The house has been carefully restored back to how it probably was in the late 1950s, with an incredible amount of attention to detail. It is like stepping back in time. Photography is forbidden inside.
Entry into Mendips is only possible by booking a minibus tour with the National Trust. This also takes in Paul McCartney's former home at 20 Forthlin Road. Knowledgeable guides greet you at both properties. You can also view Mendips from the outside - many do - though it is best to park on a backstreet and walk round - it is located on the busy A562.
This is a growing listings directory – over 950 entries have been listed as of September 2022.
