Best website about Britain, AmazonA Bit About Britain is now a participant in the Amazon Associates programme, an affiliate advertising programme whereby websites can earn fees by advertising and linking to Amazon, the online store.  I’m not quite sure how, or if, this works, but I’m prepared to give it a go.  So, every now and again, if I think a particular book or DVD – or anything relevant – may be of interest to my reader, I will include a link to Amazon where it can be purchased.  You may see other links too.

If you click on an Amazon link from A Bit About Britain and buy something – anything – quickly enough, I might earn some commission. Eventually, this could be enough to buy me a pint on Friday.  Once on the Amazon site, you can navigate to any other product in the normal way.  So, while you’re there, purchase something really expensive.  If you don’t buy within 24 hours, or buy from another link, I don’t get a penny.  Not a thing.  Currently, links are just to the UK Amazon site.  There is a way of linking to Amazon sites local to other countries, but I haven’t figured out how to do that without turning A Bit About Britain into an advertising nightmare.

Hi Mike – great idea … pennies help along the way – and I look forward to the report back … and to reading about more pubs as you spend those pennies – or should that phrase be in the next post?! Cheers Hilary

I hope it reaps many pints for you and even a pie or two. Yours is a sensational blog, one of the very best around and Amazon are lucky to have you putting business THEIR way

This is a disgrace – that you should have to go to Amazon for pennies. The British Tourist Authority, or whatever they call themselves now, should be rewarding your efforts with large cheques. Enough to buy pints for everybody in the bar, or at least your travel expenses.

A Bit About Britain welcomes visitors. What do you think?
