A Bit About Britain is one

Happy Birthday, A Bit About BritainThe new A Bit About Britain was launched one year ago – so Happy Birthday, A Bit About Britain! Where does the time go?

One year on, there are more than 200 posts and pages on the site, covering everything from abandoned abbeys, bloody battlefields, crenellated castles, historic houses, gorgeous gardens, moody memorials, peaceful parishes and wild walks.

The expected – and the unexpected.

The attraction directory will shortly list 450 places of interest (only several thousand to go..!)

There are timelines for every period of British history, a summary of every king and queen from 843AD to the present – and even a list of British Prime Ministers, the little tinkers.

If you’re not already following A Bit About Britain, please sign up to follow by email on this page. Your name and email address will NOT be published. You simply enter your email address, and then an email will be sent to you which you need to click ‘confirm follow’ – and that’s it.

If you’re already following A Bit About Britain – thank you very much!

I’m so sorry that I missed A Bit About Britain’s birthday! What could I possibly have been doing on May 16? Undoubtedly, getting ready for Syttende Mai. I hope it was happy. This is a phenomenal website, Mike. Your photos and interesting/humorous narrative are unparalleled.

Congratulations on completing the year with so much valuable info, I always look forward to wondering what you’re going to write about next! Wish I lived closer so I could visit all those fascinating bits of Good Old England. But I’ll be visiting Scotland in July 2018!
